ReVo Room Spotlight
In this segment we take a closer look at one of our favorite supernatural awakening rooms – Night Whispers.
This room takes place at a manor deep in the Bayou of Southern Louisiana. Ancient Vampires rule the modern world, while other supernatural creatures and mortals are welcome with open arms.
This is a refuge where everyone is safe within the Mansion. This is a refuge from the storm and all that would seek to cause harm to the family.
We sit down with Lady M to discuss the room.

The Interview
Smurfy
Describe your room, ie: the concept and main theme?
Lady M
Night Whispers is home to Ancient Vampires, who decided to try to mainstream. It is a sanctuary, a refuge for any and all that are looking for a home that will allow them to be who/what they are without condemnation or ridicule. Supernatural and mortal alike. The compound is large, set in the Bayous of Southern Louisiana. It is warded and guarded against intruders, even though there are factions who attempt to enter. The leader of the Family is over a millennium old and has studied many disciplines over her long years. The draw to Louisiana was the years she spent as a young Vampire there. The ones residing there are varied. Were of different types (wolf, cat, etc). Mortals exist there without any danger. Our main concept is blending into the present day world, while still maintaining our true natures, dealing with insurrections in a not so diplomatic way.
The Family owns quite a bit of the French Quarter in New Orleans (our sub room – Dark Dreams) While our locations are based on reality, our characters give in to their nature when warranted.
Smurfy
Are all players in your room involved in this storyline?
Lady M
yes all are included in the storyline and actively participate
Smurfy
Are character sheets required?
Lady M
It is not a requirement, but most have a Bio on Night Whispers Forum
Smurfy
You said your sub room is based on the French Quarter in New Orleans, can you tell us a little more about that?
Lady M
The Family owns a Hotel in the French Quarter, most of the meetings and decisions are made there in the Penthouse. We own a nightclub/bar and that has become a central point for roleplay. We have characters that bartend, characters who do burlesque, a Los Muertos clan has come to fruition on the docks. They are not rivals, but have joined with the De Tepes Family. The City is filled with shops, sidewalk restaurants etc that are Family owned. More often than not unruly customers are dealt with in the Alley behind the Nightclub in a typical Vampiric fashion. There is a deputy that helps with clean-up in those situations. The leader of the De Tepes Family takes care of the other clans in the city – arbitration etc. There are quite a few of them – Ventrue, Assamite, Malkavian, Brujah, Nosferatu. For the Queen, it is like herding rats
Smurfy
I love that! I actually started out in a wod/vtm room. So, that’s really cool stuff. What do you do when you have a newbie come into the room? How do you help them learn about the world you’ve created? Is it easy for them to jump into storylines?
Lady M
All are welcomed. We always ask if they have read the entry page and are aware of the type of room Night Whispers/Dark Dreams is. If they do not have a char type, We do our best to find out what they want. When they are ready, we include them as much as they are willing to do, into the rp. (It has been a pretty long while since I was a newbie and I know what it feels like. If we have a hunt going on -We have a pack of wolf shifters, and we welcome them to join in. Not all are comfortable with the blood and gore So we try to find their comfort zone. I have had many say they have never been felt more welcomed into a room)
Smurfy
That’s really awesome! How many various character types are in your room? You said wolf shifters, and you’ve mentioned various vampires – Is there anything else?
Lady M
Mortals, werewolf’s, werecats, ghouls, ghosts, shape-shifters, Voodoo Priestess’, (after all we are in the Bayou’s of Louisiana)
Smurfy
So a ton of amazing char ideas! Is there a set structure for powers, or is it free form?
Lady M
it is free form – but no god modding type of powers – no one is invincible It is a kill zone, but main characters are killed only by mutual agreement
Smurfy
What is the main thing you want everyone to know about your room?
Lady M
The room is a mix. We enjoy having fun, but conversely we enjoy a killing spree as well. We try to keep things based in a pseudo reality of our location in Louisiana. All are welcomed, and more than welcome to come up with rp ideas and characters.
