A Tour of Gor …

In this new segment, Unwritten will take you on a journey through Gor. Find out the latest happenings, what it means to play in Gor, and other amazing tidbits surrounding the genre.

The Home Stone By Unwritten

Upon being asked to write a blog piece about Gor my mind was instantly overcome by a multitude of potential topics.  You see, dear reader, I’ve been a part of the Gorean community for more years than I care to actually admit and, of course, along with that comes the reading of many, many Gorean books.  I do not lack for inspiration or information.  In fact, sometimes it feels as if I harbor way too much of both!  So when it became time to choose a topic to write about I had many ideas, but soon I realized that there was no more perfect, more meaningful place to begin than at the center of it all – the Home Stone.

What is a Home Stone?  A mere piece of rock?  Is it only a legend?  Is there just one true Home Stone?  Does everyone on Gor have one?  The answers to all of this can be considered simple, and yet, they are complex as well.

The Home Stone is the figurative heart of any Gorean settlement be it a big city, a small town, or even the most tiny, dilapidated hut.  Without the Home Stone the settlement, in the minds of Goreans, ceases to exist.  People may remain and the walls may be standing still, and yet they are only a shell of something whose life has been lost, much like the human body.  The body does not cease to exist if the heart is gone, but also the body does not hold any life within it without the heart.  The city does not make the Home Stone.  The Home Stone makes the city.  Even if an entire town is razed to the ground, completely destroyed, not a single building left standing – if the Home Stone has survived, the town, too, has survived and can be rebuilt.  Men will sacrifice their lives fighting to protect the Home Stone and, I hazard to guess, women would do the same, or at the very least, they may sacrifice their freedom, if they felt it was necessary to protect the Home Stone.  Men of the same town who may be at odds or even hate each other to the point of coming to blows against each other would lay aside their quarrels and fight, side by side, together, to protect their shared Home Stone.  It is something that is infinitely more important than any personal values, desires, or grudges.  A shared Home Stone means protection for the Goreans it is shared with – both men and women.  It is something that is revered and often evokes great emotion and pride, much like the flags and other iconic symbols of the various nations upon Earth.  In some cities, even, a Gorean’s citizenship is contingent upon ceremonies revolving around the Home Stone in which oaths are pledged and offerings may be left.  One’s birth within a particular location does not always denote them a citizen, as it may upon Earth.  Citizenship and, along with it, the right of sharing a Home Stone is not taken lightly and must be earned by way of showing one’s intentions and virtue to that of the Home Stone which will be shared with all the others who have done the same.

The name of the planet is Gor and, in each language spoken upon the planet, the word “Gor” means the same thing – Home Stone.  However, that being said, the Home Stone in its actual existence, beyond the planet as a whole, is, actually, just a rock.  It may be small or large, smooth or ragged, plain or fancy.  The amount of adoration a Gorean will have for their Home Stone is not based on its size or richness, but merely its presence.  A Gorean will not care if his city’s Home Stone is small.  It is his Home Stone.  He will cherish it and protect it no matter its size or appearance.  So yes, it is just a piece of rock and yet it is so much more as it means everything about the literal life and survival of his locale.

To many Goreans the Home Stone of any other place outside their own home is a myth of sorts.  A man of Ar would likely believe that the people of Tetrapoli had a Home Stone of their own and perhaps even have heard tales of the Tetrapoli Home Stone, but he’d probably not have the chance to actually lay his eyes upon it.  So, to him, the Home Stone of Tetrapoli would be akin to a legend – something he’d heard of, possibly believed to be true, and yet had no solid proof of.  It would be basically unheard of for any settlement to not keep their Home Stone in an exalted location and also, most probably, under protection, perhaps even by way of lock and key and armed guards. They are that proud of their Home Stone, and it is that important and vital to their lives and the continuation of their city or town.  Strangely, there is a bit of a paradox here, however.  Whereas men will fight to the death to protect their own Home Stone and any attempt to steal the Home Stone would be viewed as the most atrocious crime to be ever committed, it is seen as a great victory to steal or ruin another location’s Home Stone.  The man that manages this feat would be hailed as a glorious warrior, perhaps the most superior of warriors within his city.  On the other hand, the man that managed to let his Home Stone be taken would be then seen as a mere stooge, a laughingstock, and it is very likely punishment would come, perhaps even in the form of a cruel, public spectacle of death.  Punishment, again even possibly being that of death, could also come into play another way in regard to Home Stones.  For one to claim a Home Stone as their own when it is truly not is a vile crime in the eyes of the Goreans.  The telling of such a lie would be a huge risk to take.

There are many Home Stones upon Gor.  As I already said, each location, no matter how big or small, claims a Home Stone of their own.  Though that means the numbers of these stones are many, to a Gorean, there is only one true Home Stone – his own.  Those outside of his city only have the value of exaltation through his victorious attempt to steal the Home Stone.  It is known, however, that many Goreans, while pledging to their own Home Stone, may recognize the significance of another man’s Home Stone and choose to honor its importance by way of not interfering with the other Home Stone.  Perhaps it comes down the choice between the lust for status and the adherence to personal honor.

Not all Goreans have a Home Stone.  Outlaws, those who lay claim to no particular town, city, or exact culture and those who have been shunned and cast out of their town, do not have a true Home Stone.  The Priest Kings, those who rule over much of Gor via their control of the Initiates who act as agents on their behalf, do not have a true Home Stone.  It could be postulated that, in their control of nearly the whole planet, which in itself is, literally, the definition of Home Stone, that the planet itself is the Home Stone of the Priest Kings.  Slaves, who can not maintain citizenship nor hold legal status as people, but instead are only chattel and property, also do not lay claim to a particular Home Stone.  A slave has no rights upon Gor, including the right to pledge their loyalty to anyone Home Stone and in turn receive its protection.

Within the scope of online roleplay many people use the term “home” and “Home Stone” interchangeably.  In Gorean reality this is not entirely accurate.  The location is not truly considered alive, or existing, without the Home Stone and, in turn, if the Home Stone is taken or broken, the locale would be considered dead.  Therefore, they can not possibly be the same, or synonymous, because the existence of one is contingent upon the existence of the other.  A home and Home Stone are definitely interdependent, however.

Thinking again of Gorean roleplaying online, I am proud to say that my characters hearts beat because the heart of Minus, Her Home Stone, exists in eminent, illustrious fashion.  Do you have a Home Stone?  If so, have you portrayed the act of pledging your loyalty to it?  If you have not – you should.

ReVo Room Spotlight

In this segment we take a closer look at one of our favorite supernatural awakening rooms – Night Whispers.

This room takes place at a manor deep in the Bayou of Southern Louisiana. Ancient Vampires rule the modern world, while other supernatural creatures and mortals are welcome with open arms.

This is a refuge where everyone is safe within the Mansion. This is a refuge from the storm and all that would seek to cause harm to the family.

We sit down with Lady M to discuss the room.

The Interview

Describe your room, ie: the concept and main theme?

Lady M

Night Whispers is home to Ancient Vampires, who decided to try to mainstream.  It is a sanctuary, a refuge for any and all that are looking for a home that will allow them to be who/what they are without condemnation or ridicule.  Supernatural and mortal alike.  The compound is large, set in the Bayous of Southern Louisiana.  It is warded and guarded against intruders, even though there are factions who attempt to enter.  The leader of the Family is over a millennium old and  has studied many disciplines over her long years.  The draw to Louisiana was the years she spent as a young Vampire there.  The ones residing there are varied.  Were of different types (wolf, cat, etc).  Mortals exist there without any danger.  Our main concept is blending into the  present day world, while still maintaining our true natures, dealing with insurrections in a not so diplomatic way.

The Family owns quite a bit of the French Quarter in New Orleans (our sub room – Dark Dreams)  While our locations are based on reality, our characters  give in to their nature when warranted.

Are all players in your room involved in this storyline?

Lady M

yes all are included in the storyline and actively participate

Are character sheets required?

Lady M

It is not a requirement, but most have a Bio on Night Whispers Forum

You said your sub room is based on the French Quarter in New Orleans, can you tell us a little more about that?

Lady M

The Family owns a Hotel in the French Quarter, most of the meetings and decisions are made there in the Penthouse.  We own a nightclub/bar and that has become a central point for roleplay.  We have characters that bartend, characters who do burlesque, a Los Muertos clan has come to fruition on the docks.  They are not rivals, but have joined with the De Tepes Family.  The City is filled with shops, sidewalk restaurants etc that are Family owned.  More often than not unruly customers are dealt with in the Alley behind the Nightclub in a typical Vampiric fashion.  There is a deputy that helps with clean-up in those situations.  The leader of the De Tepes Family  takes care of the other clans in the city – arbitration etc.  There are quite a few of them – Ventrue,  Assamite,  Malkavian, Brujah, Nosferatu.  For the Queen, it is like herding rats

I love that! I actually started out in a wod/vtm room. So, that’s really cool stuff. What do you do when you have a newbie come into the room? How do you help them learn about the world you’ve created? Is it easy for them to jump into storylines?

Lady M

All are welcomed.  We always ask if they have read the entry page and are aware of the type of room Night Whispers/Dark Dreams is.  If they do not have a char type, We do our best to find out what they want.  When they are ready, we include them as much as they are willing to do, into the rp.  (It has been a pretty long while since I was a newbie and I know what it feels like.  If we have a hunt going on -We have a pack of wolf shifters, and we welcome them to join in.  Not all are comfortable with the blood and gore So we try to find their comfort zone.  I have had many say they have never been felt more welcomed into a room)

That’s really awesome! How many various character types are in your room? You said wolf shifters, and you’ve mentioned various vampires – Is there anything else?

Lady M

Mortals,  werewolf’s, werecats, ghouls, ghosts, shape-shifters, Voodoo Priestess’, (after all we are in the Bayou’s of Louisiana)

So a ton of amazing char ideas! Is there a set structure for powers, or is it free form?

Lady M

it is free form – but no god modding type of powers – no one is invincible   It is a kill zone, but main characters are killed only by mutual agreement

What is the main thing you want everyone to know about your room?

Lady M

The room is a mix.  We enjoy having fun, but conversely we enjoy a killing spree as well.  We try to keep things based in a pseudo reality of our location in Louisiana.  All are welcomed, and more than welcome to come up with rp ideas and characters.

The Man Child

Dear Indigo,

I recently got into a situation with this woman I’ve been seeing. Things were great. She was cleaning my apartment, then all of a sudden she goes through my freezer and tosses out every last piece of meat and replaces it with this veggie burger shit. How do I keep from strangling her? Also, how do I keep her from asking for more of a commitment, when clearly I’ve given her too much freedom in my space.

Signed, Remington Legend (The Reckoning)

To the Man Child,

It’s always hard when beginning a new relationship. There’s going to be bumps along the way. Your question of how do you keep her from asking for more hints that it hasn’t happened yet, you just want a way to get out. Sadly, Man Child, this seer sees a little too much, and it’s not her you should be worried about. As for the meat, eat what she makes… but stop at a drive thru on the way home. Remember to carry mouthwash, meat can taint the breath.

Pump and Dump

Dear Indigo,

I just met this hot piece of ass broad. Things heated up pretty quick, but we got drunk really fast. I’m pretty sure she was trying to kill me the whole time we were getting into some heavy petting situations, then I started to feel my whole world spinning around. Tequila does that to a guy. Just as we were getting to the good part – I found myself passing out right after my own orgasm. I never even got her off. So, I have two questions. How do I keep her from calling me a minute man, and also how do I get her to stop trying to kill me with a handbag?

Signed, Knox Legend (The Reckoning)

Dear Pump and Dump,

So you found the saying tequila makes her clothes fall off and got a little over excited. It happens to the best of us… No matter how badly you’re going to mess up in the future, this will be a minor blip on a scale of normal to catastrophic. Try thinking of unsexy things the next time you find yourself with your pants down to control that minute mark beast. As for the bag, invest in good insurance.

Room Spotlight

This new segment of the blog is something that was kicked around from the beginning and I am so excited to finally bring it to fruition. We will be featuring different rooms on ReVo to showcase what they bring to our community and the creativity of those behind them.

We hope that you’ll learn a little something about the rooms, see what they’re about, get to know the room leader through the interview and maybe find a new place to try out a new character! Expand your horizons and try something new! We have so many amazing, bold rooms on ReVo and this is our way of celebrating them.

Our very first room spotlight is on The Alinjah Realm, led by Wicked Cupcake. This room is set in medieval times with an encompassing storyline based on a war between demons. Death, romance, intrigue and a mysterious sword that binds it all drives storylines that the entire room cultivates cooperatively. As one of the most active rooms on ReVo, the leader and members of The Alinjah Realm are welcoming to new players and have created a place where you can get your feet wet without a character sheet and with the ability to learn in a safe zone. You can be anything in this room, any species, any abilities – the only limitation is your own imagination. Choose your side and join the fight!

Additionally, The Alinjah Realm has a subroom that is Gorean based. The environment is designed for learning but anyone interested in Gor with any level of knowledge is welcome to play. If you’re new to the realm and are looking for a safe place to be taught before jumping in to a Gorean room this is an excellent place to start.

It was an absolute pleasure interviewing Wicked Cupcake about her room, and learning about what they have going on in there. I hope you’ll check out what she’s built. Undoubtedly you’ll be warmly welcomed and drawn in to an adventurous story!

The Interview

describe your room, ie: the concept and main theme

Wyckid Cupcake
The room is based in the medieval times more towards the beginning of the medieval times.  The theme is set on a war based between the race of the shadowwalker demons. They are divided  over good and evil. The war is started due to the Mother and the Father of the shadowwalker demon race splitting. The father is obsessed over the sword that started the entire realm called the SWD Sword. The very first born shadowwalker demon is imprisoned within the sword. The very first born Shadowwalker Demon was created by the Goddess known as Tennarrathe, her job and purpose was to protect the shadows and those of the shadows. However, evil had filled her heart, instead of protecting, she wanted to claim all of the shadows and use their powers to herself. Another Shadowwalker demon by the name of Ravn was born, she is Nightrose Shadowwbanes Twin sister. They had to fight against each other. If Ravn won, Nightrose was to be killed. If Nightrose won she would kill Ravn and continue the evil. However, Ravn won, but within her heart, she could not kill her twin sister. Ravn created a sword out of her very own flesh and blood and prisoned Nightrose in the sword. When She met Mythkekal they fell in love and married, they had two children, Manyia Sayians and Jessalyn Marie. However, Mythkekal was obsessed with the sword and wanted to free Nightrose from her prison and marry her. This created the war of the realm.  However, Mythkekal and his army was kicking butt on the war… Ravn did not know want to do so she took the sword to Tennarrathe who created Lillican Phaedra from the sword. Lillican is the guardian and protects the sword. The concept is to keep Nightrose from getting free of the sword.

are all players in your room involved in this storyline?

Wyckid Cupcake
Yes they are

is it possible for new people to get involved in the storyline?

Wyckid Cupcake
Everyone and Anyone is welcome to come and join with the storyline, they can also play as many characters as they wish and whatever they wish to be is welcome

are character sheets required?

Wyckid Cupcake
No, but they are welcomed if anyone wants to do one

you have a subroom also, is this storyline the basis of that room as well?

Wyckid Cupcake
No, my subroom i am using as a Goreanish room. The basic of the room is for those who are new to Gor and wanting to learn Gor..I have had a lot of people asking me to help get better and to learn Gor, so I am using my subroom to help those new to Gor and wanting/willing to learn Gor instead of being in an actual Gor room disrupting other peoples Rp’s and such.

i love that! I love seeing new people getting into the realm! Is the objective to learn and then be able to play in formal gorean rooms?

Wyckid Cupcake
So do i to be honest and yes, Its for them to be able to be in a place where they can learn and get the hang of things without being criticized or people getting mean with them. Its a safe zone, so no killing….But force collaring and stuff still can be done as they need to see what Gor is about. When they are comfortable enough, they can go to the actual Gor Rooms and rp better

is anyone welcome to go there to learn?

Wyckid Cupcake
Everyone is welcome to come to the subroom, Weather they want to learn, or even if they are already apart of Gor.

you run one of the most active rooms on ReVo, what do you think contributes to the success and activity of the room?

Wyckid Cupcake
The respect and the welcoming of my room,  that and for those who do not wish to participate in the war and or any of the attacks, there are safe zones that i am putting up on the pds so they can still have places to go and be able to rp in where they can remain safe and untouched. No harm can touch anyone while in the safe zones. This way they are not trapped rping only in the Castle PD. And my Rules on my front page are very simple to follow and not so very strict with things.

what character types are there in the main room? Obviously this demon race, is there anything else?

Wyckid Cupcake
Elves, Drows, Spirits, Humans, Demons of any kind, Vampires, Lycans, Were creatures, Dragons, Angels, ect

so basically anything and everything! that leaves a lot of room for creativity. is there any power structure or is the creation of those character free form?

Wyckid Cupcake
its all free form.. i want to see everyone’s imagination, i want to see what they come up with, what they can do…though there is a storyline, not every character has to be apart of the storyline. i do ask for at least one character to participate in the actual storyline, but all the other characters do not technically have to…

how should new players go about getting involved in your room?

Wyckid Cupcake
The thing i suggest for new players, come in, ask lots of questions, observe the rp and not be afraid to pm myself or anyone in the room to ask their questions and to even come in and get comfortable and spend time with myself and the other roleplayers as well

what is the main thing that you want everyone to know about your room

Wyckid Cupcake
The main thing i want everyone to know about my room is that it is fun, always open to suggestions, anyone can join in whenever they want to, and everyone is welcome to come

This month I chat with Joy Naomi and feature her 2 characters, Luna and Kendra.

1.) When were you introduced to SOA rp? Who introduced you and what room/site was it at?

It’s been so long at this point I honestly don’t remember.

2.) Who was your very first SOA character? Do you still rp her today?

I don’t remember my first character, but I took a break and when I came back my first character then is Kendra and yes, I still play her, she’s my fave.

3.) Did you watch the tv series ‘Sons of Anarchy’ before rping SOA? What do you think of the series?

I didn’t, but after playing in the room for about a month I started watching it and I fell in love with it. It’s now one of my favourite shows.

4.) Tell us everything about your SOA Iceland character, Luna.

Ah, my Luna..she’s a fun one lol. She was raised around the club because her father was a member. Her mother passed away when she was really young so the old ladies and all the women associated with the club helped raise her. She did okay in high school and loved computers so she went to school for computer science and programming and now has her own cyber security business and is an ordained minister who was lucky enough to marry her cousin Roskvi and his husband Bjarne..both of whom she adores more than words could ever say. Roskvi is the only blood kin she has left but she has the club who is her family as well. She’s easy to get along with and will defend the hell out of her friends and family.

5.) Luna married Roskvi and Bjarne at SOA Iceland on the beach. You performed an amazing job. Would you do it again?

Thank you, and yes I would. It was fun to do and the research on a traditional viking wedding was fun to look into, I tried to do a mix of traditional and modern for the ceremony and reception.

6.) Describe Luna’s motorcycle. Where in the world would she like to travel with it?

She rides a Harley-Davidson Sportster 883 Superlow that is dark purple and black and is fully customized for her. As far as where she would like to travel probably around Europe.

7.) Tell us about your other SOA character, Kendra. What is her story so far?

Kendra is an interesting character..she was born and raised in the club to the president of the Las Vegas chapter. Her dad was rather disappointed that she was a girl because he wanted a son to carry on his legacy in the club, but he made up for it by making sure she was taught and groomed to be the ultimate old lady one day. She’s been married three times..has one hell of a mouth on her which will usually get her in trouble because half of the time she doesn’t know when to shut up. Once you get past the tough outer shell though you find out that she’s really caring and soft hearted. She would literally die for the club and she’s come close one or two times but she wouldn’t have it any other way.

8.) What advice would you give to someone who is new to SOA rp?

Prepare for anything and everything. In the world of SoA anything can happen at any time. Also, try not to get to attached to your characters (I know..that is hard to do) but I only say this because they can and probably will get injured and maybe even killed. At the same time don’t get to stressed about stuff and just enjoy it because it is roleplay and things should be fun and enjoyable more than stressful!

9.) Besides role-playing, what else do you enjoy partaking in?

Other than working I like to game…here lately I’ve been playing Animal Crossing which is really relaxing..I’ve also started playing Ark and WoW again and I also play Dungeons and Dragons every Saturday and Sunday night.

10.) Final question, is Luna dating James now?

Not at the moment..but she is very much interested. He’s a great guy who is very easy to talk to and he cares about those around him..he’s also easy on the eyes!

See you next month and thanks to those who sent in suggestions for new questions.

The Grave Robber

Dear Indigo,

I’ve been eyeing this man but he’s like 20 years older than me. I have an issue though because I have feelings for him, but I’m not sure they are returned, but I feel the attraction with him. And boy do I really want to rock his world.  What should I do?

– Ashland Calhoun

Dear Grave Robber,

The best thing about older men, they know what they’re doing. The worst thing? They have years of shit they have to work through. Sometimes you have to break down the walls they put in place. Best way to do that is to crash through those bricks with army tank inspired naughty lingerie. Agent Provocateur is my suggestion. Shove him down, put on the stereo (this telepath suggests something with a good strong bass and beat to grind your hips to) and show him what you got.

Either you end up with a night of raunchy, hair pulling, ass slapping fun.. Or he throws up those walls. Keep strong my old man charmer!

The Art of Writing

By Rivers

A long, long time ago…

I think I’ve always considered myself a writer. I’ve always loved to write and I excelled in subjects related to reading and writing in school. However I started looking at it really differently about 20 years ago when someone introduced me to Gor. Weren’t expecting that one were you? Neither was I. Trust me. LOL. But that’s another story for another day.

I do, truly credit my early years in Gor for starting the first big evolution in writing. A long, long time ago, before my characters were ever fed to sleen and before I even knew what Gor was I went through a super long and super intense training. Of course I had to learn the flora and fauna and the foods and drinks and how to prepare them, etc. But what was most important was how I wrote my posts.

The woman that trained me insisted that my posts could never be less than ten lines, and should strive to be between twenty and twenty-five. In every post I had to describe some aspect of my slave’s appearance or physicality but I couldn’t repeat and adjective in any of my posts. The thesaurus became my best friend. I was expected to create  such vivid imagery in every post that my partner and I would be able to envision the same scene. She would criticize poor syntax, considering that ‘sloppy’ posting and would make me re-write the post. Everything I wrote had to be with detail and was expected to be written beautifully – every serve every chore, every menial action. Nothing less was accepted.

So I learned a lot of words. I learned how to translate what I saw in my mind with so much detail anyone else could see the same thing. I learned a lot of words. Yes. I said that twice on purpose. I learned a LOT of words LOL. I learned how to write sentences that flowed and had good rhythm. I learned skills that I used the rest of my life with writing through my education, my career and I also still apply many of these things to my current roleplay.

So this blog

The concept for this blog was actually submitted by Russ several months ago and as soon as I read the suggestion my mind immediately went back twenty years to those critiques and expectations of my posts. This segment will be open to various contributors, but I wanted to write the first one because I loved the idea. We have a lot of help out there for ways to improve your design, but we don’t talk about writing much even though writing is at the heart of everything we do on a roleplay site. To be clear – writing is an art form. There’s no right or wrong way to do it. Everything in this blog by everyone that contributes is meant to encourage creativity and challenge monotony, not to criticize.

So if I had to choose one piece of advice to this entry, I would choose adjectives. Practice with your detail – and get the thesaurus up so you can challenge yourself to not repeat words. For example, do you always describe your character’s hair as blonde? What about trying to find other ways to describe blonde: champagne, platinum, flaxen, etc. Next time you’re at the drug store look at the boxed hair color and all the descriptions of those shades for some other ideas. What is the texture of the hair? The length? When you think about your descriptions this way you can go from saying “she pushed her blonde hair over her shoulder” to “she swept those loose, platinum curls over her shoulder where they cascaded to the low of her back.”

This month Reaper is featured for the SOA interview.  Enjoy!

1.)  What year was it when you discovered SOA rp? Who introduced you and what room/site location was it at?

Great question, I believe it might have been around 2017. I honestly can’t remember the year, but Covet, my better half has script of us playing back than. So it was at least in 2017.

2.)  Who was your very first SOA character?  Do you still rp him/her today?

Ryan Scott, leader of the Tesla brother, and torn in the side of the Club. Yes, I still play Ryan, I am actually working on the story of Liam. Ryan’s son, and would be eventual successor.

3.)  Did you watch ‘Sons of Anarchy’ before rping SOA?   Who was your fave character from the tv series?

No, actually role playing the characters made me want to watch the show. Slick and Q were both very kind and welcoming of me into the fold. That I think was just another reason why I wanted to play there so much.

4.)  Which SOA rooms do you play at ReVo?

Crown of Thorns would be the main, I still have characters for Slicks room SOA Long Beach, and I have plans to play in Burn it Down.

5.)  Tell us all about your charater, Aidan.

Aiden is a bit unique in himself. He was an orphan who joined the army, became Air Borne before being selected as a Delta. He actually stole and hide a large amount of money from a few terrorist cells before separating from the Army. Aiden’s true passion was in the kitchen, and he used his new found money to establish himself. However he never found a fit in the “real” world. Where no one is actually real. That was where he found himself in the arms of the club. Where men were men, and words meant something more than just wasted time.

5.)  Tell us all about your character, Aidan.

6.)  Your fave rp moment as Aidan. A few sentences will do.

Aiden was lost in a lot of ways, he didn’t fit in SOA Long Beach, and I honestly didn’t want him there. I wanted someone I could explore with, someone who I could use to travel. However that sounds fun on the outside, it was kind of hollow. My favorite moment was when Aiden met Makayla, it was when his story really flourished, and grew. In a lot of ways I see Aiden as the version of myself I wish I could be. Makayla brings out the best in him, just as Covet brings out the best in me.

7.) Tell us about your other character Saint.

Saint is a bit more of a new character. Saint is intelligent, cunning, strong, and disciplined. Saint is the leader that I believe all men would wish to be more like. He’s the Captain America of the Son’s and I love that about him. Saint is the epitome of how the Son’s are different than your average street or biker gang.

8.)  And Saint’s favourite moment in the rp spotlight happened when…

Saint is such a new character, I don’t know if I can pin point something about him. His Rp with Bay is always amazing though, she’s such a deep and strong character. Like a wild horse that can only be broken by the one she chooses. They’re amazing together.

9.)  How are you enjoying designing your own av’s?

I really do, however I have to say I still have a lot to learn, and I’m not nearly as good as a lot of people.

10.)  What tips would you give to someone who is thinking about becoming a SOA room leader?

SOA is built around a destination. SAMCRO the basis of the show revolves around the characters from the Son’s of Anarchy Motor Cycle club Redwood Originals. If you want to build a room, you first need to know where it’s going to be, and what’s going to be the name of the Charter. After that it’s important to have a fictional or non-fictional city laid out for the room. After that you need to establish who will be sitting at the table, not only as the pres, but also who will be his left and right hands. VP, and Sgt at Arms.

11.)  What advice would you give to someone who wants to try out SOA rp but is hesitating?

It’s not as deep or grueling as you might think. The Genre is actually super easy to learn, the characters and story lines are extremely deep and realistic.  SOA is so much about real life, if you’ve ever been poor, or broken, or felt alone, or unappreciated, or even loved. Than you could create a character, and play in a SOA room.

See you next month with someone who plays over at SoA: Iceland!

Hang Around: SoA
By Tatiana

This month my SOA interview is with Covet.  We talk about her characters, her rooms, and advice to new players.  Let’s do this!

1.) What year was it when you were introduced to SOA rp? Who introduced you and what room/site location was it at?
2015, randomly went into a room, Asphalt Dynasty, IC

2.) Who was your very first SOA character back then? Do you still rp him/her today?
Haley Jacobs. Her real name was Halcyon King but she was in hiding.

I do not really play her much anymore but I do still have her. The person who plays her husband is busy with RT.

3.) Did you ever watch the tv series ‘Sons of Anarchy’ before rping SOA? Who was your fave character if you did watch the series?
I’ve seen it a few times through.  I think my favorite character was Opie.

4.) You had several SOA rooms. Please give us a run down on each, the names of the rooms, where they were located, and what happened to them.
– SAMDEF: Defiance Point, Florida / OOC Drama
– SAMROA: Roanoke, Oregon / Still active
– Disciples of Diablo (Mayans) Had a Mexican and US city area / Never really picked up
– SAMOLY: Olympia, WA / Died out

5.) Now it is time to feature your character, Bennett. Tell us everything about him. How he manifested, history, his ranks, family, friends, and his club.

Wolf is the younger brother of SAMROA’s President. He is as loyal as they come with the club. He did previous serve in the military but was injured and had to get out. He joined the club after having been raised around it when he was younger.

6.) Okay now your fave rp moment as Bennett. A few sentences will do.
Honestly I haven’t even played him yet lol. He’s very sassy though and keeps his brother in line. At least in my head.

7.) Tell us about your other character Makayla.

Makayla had it rough. Her dad was in the club and her mom was never around. After her dad died she kind of drifted out on her own in her teens. It led to a lot of bad things. She ended up working on the streets and that’s how she ended up killing a john that was trying to kill her.

She met Aidan soon after that. He instantly wanted her but Makayla was convinced at first but they eventually started dating. They had since married and moved to SAMROA from southern California. They had one son and Makayla’s life is completely different.

8.) And Makayla’s favourite moment in the rp spotlight happened when…
There’s been quite a few. Reaper is my rp partner with Makayla and we have very compatible roleplay styles.
I guess meeting Aiden and pushing herself to trust someone after no one has really been there for her in years.

9.) If you could add any activity to the rally for everyone to participate in, something new, what would it be?
Oh man I don’t know. There’s a lot of good stuff there. Maybe more stuff for the women to participate in.

10.) Did you enjoy the rally? Obtain any high scores?
I actually wasn’t able to go this year. I just moved and started a new job and there’s never enough hours in the day. I’ve enjoyed it in years passed though.

11.) What advice would you give to someone who wants to try out SOA rp but is hesitating?
Just do it. There’s so much more to it than just the club.

12.) What tips would you give to someone who is thinking about becoming a SOA room leader?
lol Don’t. Just take an interest in a current room and I’m sure it would pick up.

13.) What’s the strangest thing you’ve seen in SOA rp?
I mean there’s some pretty strange stuff in the show. I’ve seen some interesting porn ventures in some rooms I guess.

14.) Discord channels in SOA rp, do you find them helpful?
Yes, it’s important to work together to keep ideas flowing.

15.) What is your opinion in cross rp between other SOA rp rooms at ReVo?
I enjoy it. Make it a SOA world and not just a SOA room. I always invite cross rp in my rooms.

Thanks for reading, enjoy your summer and see you next month!

Interviews with Tatiana

This month I interview kitten.  Her characters and the upcoming rally, which happens really soon is featured.  Enjoy!

1.)  What year was it when you were introduced to SOA rp?  Who introduced you and what room/site location was it at?
2010 I had actually created a room on another site that had SOA storylines in it.

2.)  Who was your very first SOA character back then?  Do you still rp him/her today?
She was a pink haired stripper named Candi. No I don’t play her anymore

3.)  Did you watch the tv series ‘Sons of Anarchy’ before rping SOA?  What do you think of the series?
I had yes, and obviously I enjoyed it lol

4.)  Tell us about Belfast Anarchy.  When did you open it?  What sort of storylines are happening there currently?
I opened Belfast in 2016. Right now the current storylines are dealing with the Irish Kings being corrupt and a rival club that was thought to have been killed off re-emerging. We’ve had a few gun fights and busted up a sex slave operation.

5.)  Now it is time to feature your character, Aoife.  What’s their story?
Aoife is a civvy that works at the club owned store Ashby’s. She’s a med student.

6.)  Let’s talk about your character, Tank, he is a big guy.  Is he violent or aggressive in any way?  Do others who interact with him, fear him?
Tank is a complex character. He’s a mixture of guys I know rt in the military as well as in local MCs. He can be violent when needs be, but he tries to think before reacting. Due to his size and he’s a bit intimidating to those that don’t really know him, but his wife never has any fear of him, and his brothers have respect.

7.)  Okay now your fave rp moment from both characters.
I have too many really.. the one’s though that do stand out for me with Tank are when he was shooting the shit in the garage back in Vegas with his best friend Logan. They’d discuss random shit they’d heard in the news (chick that was found at the grocery store with a whole chicken and some oranges shoved up in a place you wouldn’t think..)

8.)  What rp do you wish you could go over and re-do as Tank or Aoife?  Maybe one you regret or made other players cringe?  How would you handle it differently?
There’s nothing I’d redo. All the roleplays I’ve done I’ve had fun and they’ve been used to further the character on in their development.

9.)  Let’s talk about the rally which takes place in July.  Will Tank and Aoife be attending?  What sort of activities would they be participating in?
Tank will be. Aoife no as she’s not a member or part of the club. Tank most likely will take part in just about every activity depending on what he’s feeling like.

10.)  What’s new at the rally this year?
Ah… that’s something I can’t say. That’s a surprise that’s being added. I will say that one event that’s been around since it started has been removed to be replaced by 2 new ones.

11.)  What tips would you give to someone who is attending the rally for the first time?
Make sure to read over the rules. If you have questions about the SOA genre and the rooms on ReVo ask. My team; Gabby, Kaliko, and Rutger are pretty awesome. Have fun basically.

12.)  Can people still donate to the event?  If so, how do they get in contact and what can they donate?
They can. There is a post on the ReVo boards in the Graphics subsection under General Requests. Or they can message me directly on the board. We accept anything from tokens for avs, DJ’s have offered dedicated spots on their shows for music of the winners choice, gift cards etc.

13.)  Besides role-playing, what else do you enjoy partaking in?
I am an avid reader. If I’m not online, I’m usually buried nose deep in a book.

See you at the rally!  August’s interview will be with Covet.  Have a great summer!   Tatiana xoxo
